• Where can I find a list of your ingredients?

We actively promote the transparent disclosure of our product’s contents. They are the cornerstone of our intention, and we are proud of them. We have a complete list on our labels and in the ‘more details’ section of individual products on the website. You can also find a comprehensive list and description of all our ingredients in the ‘Hand-picked Ingredients’ section of our website. This includes an explanation about the ingredient's therapeutic and/or cleaning benefits.

  • Are Common Oxen products organic?

Common Oxen products are not organic. While we would like to be so, organic raw materials can come at three times the cost. We would like to encourage as many people as possible to afford our products, which are 100% non-toxic, natural, biodegradable and sustainable with considerable health and environmental benefits. We hope to have an organic range as soon as our scale of operation and our customer’s affordability allows it. There are some brands that tout the organic label at unbelievably great prices, and that’s what they are - unbelievable.

  • After the use of your products, what is the grey water good for?

The grey water from almost all our products can be directly used to water gardens! We know of people who use soap berry to wash clothes and have raised the height of their washing machine by a foot, and collect the waste water in a tank close by, which is then used to water their plants. We know others who use Bar Bar and directly send the water from their drain into their kitchen garden. The products that you cannot do this with are Shine Shah and Swish Wash since they are too anti-bacterial for soil bacteria.

  • How do I avoid 'greenwashing'?

Sometimes you may get an impression from a product that is misleading and sometimes you may underestimate the honesty of a product. To make better product choices, arm yourself with a finer understanding of common label parlance at our ‘Terminology’ section.

  • What is the shelf life of your products?

Our formulae are self-preserving and our products stay fresh from 18 to 24 months. In this period they can react to elements like light, air and moisture so we recommend storing them in their packaging, in a cool and dry place, away from sunlight.

  • Does Common Oxen have refill packs?

Super question! Right now we don't, but soon we hope to be able to have unpackaged versions of products available exclusively on our website. If you already have a few favourites whose benefits and instructions you don't need explained anymore, you will be saving on extra packing and printing! Get on our mailing list (on the footer of every page of the website) to be intimated of our progress.

  • Is your packaging recyclable?

We bend backwards to not use fused materials, even though they are currently most attractive and available. We know that there is absolutely no way that they can be recycled in the current system, and the materials would only end up in a landfill for decades - which would defeat one of the purposes of our existence. We keep our paper and plastics separate to increase the possibility of them being picked up for recycling once they leave your home.

Segregating your clean dry waste from wet waste is vital since plastic or paper that has sambhar over it cannot be separated for recycling.

  • Are payments processed via your website secure?

Yes, our payment gateway partner is approved by the RBI and other Indian financial institutions to channel Credit Card, Debit Card, Net banking, ATM-cum-Debit Card, Mobile Payment and Cash Card modes from you in real-time. They provide a secure link between us and the various issuing institutions using secure payment protection tools.
