Why 'Common Oxen'

We get asked this quite often.

  • When the global trend is to encourage individualistic tendencies that are stripping us of our rich resources and grounding, we find meaning and comfort in belonging to the common. 'Common' suggests belonging to and being shared equally - something that is widespread, prevalent, occurring habitually.

For centuries, oxen were the animals that ground seed to make precious botanical oils, which are essential raw materials for us. We hope that as we prepare fresh ground for sustainable practices, our breed of common oxen become commonplace.
